Pregnant Women’s Motivation in Conducting Antenatal Care During The Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

ANC services experienced a decrease in the number of patients from January 2020  to April 2020, K1 visits in January were 76,878, down from April with 59,326 visits. Likewise, K4 visits in January totaled 57,166 visits, and a decrease in April of 50,767 visits (Nurjasmi, 2020). Many factors influence pregnant women to make antenatal care visits, one of which is the pregnant women's motivation. The study aims to determine the motivation of pregnant women in carrying out antenatal care during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research employed a descriptive observational method using a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all pregnant women at Mira Midwifery Clinic, Pemangkat sub-district, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan on November 22^nd, 2022 – December 22^nd, 2022. The sampling technique used in this study was Saturated sampling with a sample of 35 pregnant women. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions. The data of this study used an ordinal scale. The results of this study showed that out of 35 pregnant women, 31 pregnant women (88.5%) had good motivation and 4 pregnant women (11.4%) had low motivation. In summary, antenatal care compliance among pregnant women during the Covid-19 pandemic at Mira Midwifery Clinic revealed that, of 35 pregnant women, 31 (88.5%) had good motivation. Pregnant women are expected to increase the knowledge about antenatal Care (ANC) examinations.
