The Relationship Between Maternal Age and The Incidence of Preeclampsia at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital

Abstract
Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. The maternal mortality rate in Sleman increased by 7 cases to 8 cases in 2018-2019. Maternal age is one of the risk factors for preeclampsia. The goal of this study was to look into the link between maternal age and the prevalence of preeclampsia at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. This research was quantitative research with analytical observational method. The design used was case-control using a retrospective appoarch. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The respondents in this study were all mothers who gave birth at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital in 2020, as many as 104 respondents. Data analysis was done by using Chi Square statistical test. The result of the study showed that the maternal age range with no risk is 63 people (60.6%) and 41 people (39.4%) are at risk. There were 52 mothers who gave birth (50%) and 52 people who did not have preeclampsia (50%) in the study. Chi Square results obtained a p of 0.0 (<0.05) and a coefficient of contingency C =0.412. The study found a link between maternal age and the prevalence of preeclampsia at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.
