Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between maternal age, maternal parity, and MUAC with the incidence of LBW at Puskesmas (community health center) Semanu I, Gunungkidul District in 2022. The research employed correlational analytic design with case-control approach. The data used in this study were secondary data collected from medical records in 2022 at Puskesmas Semanu I, Gunungkidul District. The sample size consisted of 90 medical records of respondents, determined using the large sample formula for case-control studies with a ratio of 1 control per 2 cases. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Ethical clearance was obtained for this study with the reference number 2645/KEP-UNISA/III/2023. The results indicated that there was no significant relationship between maternal age (p = 0.672 > 0.05) or maternal parity (p = 0.648 > 0.05) and the incidence of LBW at Puskesmas Semanu I. However, a significant relationship was found between maternal MUAC and the incidence of LBW (p = 0.000 < 0.05) at Puskesmas Semanu I.
