The Relation of Knowledge about Cervical Cancer and Interests in Performing IVA Examination in Kotabaru Village

Abstract
Cervical cancer is a very important reproductive health issue for women and is one of the biggest causes of cancer deaths in women worldwide. The study aims to determine the relation of knowledge about cervical cancer and interest in performing IVA examinations in Kotabaru Village. The study used analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique in the study used Total Sampling by taking all the population into the samples based on the inclusion criteria. The sample in the study was 38 people. Statistical test results used Spearman Rank. Knowledge about cervical cancer on interest in performing IVA examination obtained a P-value of 0.035 < 0.05, indicating a relation of knowledge about cervical cancer and interest in performing IVA examinations in Kotabaru Village. It is recommended to the community, especially women of childbearing age, to increase knowledge related to health problems, especially about cervical cancer so that it can increase awareness to do IVA examination as an effort to prevent cervical cancer.
