The Relationship between Social Support and IMD Success at the Baamang 1 Sampit Health Center, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province

Abstract
One of the efforts to increase the success of breastfeeding is through the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) by newborns to their mothers. The practice of early initiation of breastfeeding is strongly influenced by enabling factors in the form of maternity home facilities and reinforcing factors in the form of the role of health workers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between social support and the success of IMD at the Baamang 1 Sampit Health Center, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. The research design is a Correlation study with a Cross Sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, with a total sample of 30 mothers giving birth as respondents at the Baamang 1 Sampit Health Center, East Kotawaringin Regency. The research data was statistically tested using the Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between social support and IMD success (p-value 0.000). It is necessary to continue to motivate post partum mothers to know more about the importance of the successful implementation of IMD.
