Abstract

Transformational leadership style is an ideal leadership style that should be applied in organizations. In transformational leadership a leader does not only think about the achievements to be expected but also thinks about how the welfare of his employees and leaders are able to influence and change awareness, and arouse enthusiasm to encourage employees to achieve the vision, mission and goals that have been set previously. This leadership style can affect the workload. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between transformational leadership and the workload of nurses. Methods: Quantitative descriptive research using the correlation method with 10 nurse respondents at Otanaha Hospital, Gorontalo City. Univariate analysis used a quantitative approach with the chi square test. Results: Research shows that most have implemented transformational leadership and most have a light workload. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between transformational leadership and nurses' workload. The room head's suggestion can increase the application of the transformational leadership style so as to minimize the workload carried by the room nurse.
