Abstract

Although spinal anesthesia is a fast and reversible technique for interversion of the lower body. Spinal anesthesia has an impact that is often found, namely pain in the puncture area. Back pain after spinal anesthesia often occurs suddenly and resolves on its own after 48 hours or with therapy. There are two techniques commonly used in spinal anesthesia, namely median and paramedian, both techniques have their respective advantages and disadvantages. Objective to determine the description of post-spinal anesthesia pain following spinal needle puncture using median and paramedian techniques at the Majenang Regional General Hospital. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The sampling technique in this research used a total sampling technique of 64 respondents. The measuring instrument uses a pain measurement observation sheet and the analysis test uses a univariate test. The results of the study showed that the average age was 40.48 years. The most dominant gender is female (62.5%) and the overall needle size using needle number is 26. Post spinal anesthesia pain that is carried out by spinal needle puncture using the median technique is mostly in the mild pain category (59.4%) with and paramedian mostly in the mild pain category (50%). Conclusion the technique used affects the pain. The median technique mostly experiences mild pain more than the paramedian.
