Abstract

Regional anesthesia produces sympathetic block, muscle relaxation, and sensory block. Spinal complications namely Post Operative Nausea Vomiting (PONV), chills and nausea vomiting. spinal cord decreases the trigger limit for vasoconstriction and shivering by about 0.6°C. Loss of the CSF causes a decrease in intracranial pressure and pulling down pain-sensitive intracranial structures. Factors that affect pressure such as cardiac output, peripheral vascular resistance, blood flow and volume. Objective to understand the incidence of complications in patients after spinal anesthesia at Jatiwinangun Hospital. Method the type of research used is descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling for 53 patients. The measuring instrument used is an observation sheet. Test analysis using univariate test. Results the average age is 48.47 years with the most dominant sex, namely male (52.8%). The incidence of complications related to PONV was found to be the most dominant with a score of 0 (66%). PDPH found that the most dominant with no PDPH (92.5%). Shivering found that the most dominant with no shivering (75.5%). Most of the hypotensives did not experience hypothermia as many as 38 respondents (71.7%). Most of the cases of hypertension were not experienced by 49 respondents (92.5%). 39 respondents (73.6%) did not experience hypothermia and 53 respondents (100%) did not experience hyperthermia overall.
