Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is experienced by almost everyone during their life. The results of research conducted in 14 cities in Indonesia showed that the pain group of the Association of Neurologists throughout Indonesia found 18.13% of sufferers of lower back pain with an average Visual Analog Scale (VAS) value of 5.46 ± 2.56, which means moderate to moderate pain. heavy. This research was to analyze the effectiveness of tepid sponge warm compresses on the pain of Low Back Pain patients at the Neurological Clinic of RA Kartini Regional Hospital. The type of research design used was Quasi Experimental, with a pre-test post-test research design with control group design. The population in the study were all Low Back Pain (LBP) patients who were examined and treated at the Neurological Clinic of RA Kartini Regional Hospital with a sample of 30 people. . The pain research instrument uses pain level measurements with the Numerical Rating Scales/NRS. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the Shapiro Wilk normality test. Based on the statistical test results of the tepid sponge warm compress for the intervention group, it was found that the Mann-Whitney test results obtained a significance value of 0.003, p-value <0.05. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected, namely that there is an effect of warm tepid sponge compresses on pain in low back pain (LBP) patients at the nerve clinic at RA Kartini Jepara Regional Hospital.
