Abstract

Non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypercholesterolemia are health issues that can be prevented through early detection and regular monitoring. Routine blood glucose and cholesterol tests are crucial in maintaining public health. This study aims to explore public perceptions of the effectiveness of routine glucose and cholesterol checks in promoting health. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, using an online questionnaire distributed to 55 respondents of varying age groups. The findings indicate that most respondents hold a positive perception of the benefits of routine checks, including improved control of glucose and cholesterol levels, early detection of changes, and enhanced quality of life. However, some respondents have not yet performed routine checks, possibly due to lack of awareness or access. The study concludes that public health education and promotion are essential to increase awareness and encourage routine screening as a preventive health strategy.
